Koenigsegg Agera R

At this point, we are pretty proud of ourselves for picking the Koenigsegg Agera as 2010’s supercar of the year. Apparently the car not only made an impression on us, but also on the Oman Royal Family. And since we’re talking about royalty here, we didn’t expect to find an ordinary Agera. No sir, the Oman Royal Family has gotten their hands on an R version of the beautiful supercar, and a member of the TeamSpeed forum has posted pictures of it for our enjoyment.

In its standard version, the Agera is powered by 4.7 liter V8 engine that delivers a total of 910 Hp. However, for the R version, the total output has been raised to an impressive 1100 HP. Sorry Bugatti, but it seems the Veyron’s time is about to end.

The R version will be distinguished from a standard Agera by a rear spoiler and a few R badges. It will also get a semi-automatic transmission and this gorgeous exterior paint! Unfortunately, no other details were given about the car, but it really doesn’t matter. All we have to say is that we hope Koenigsegg makes a few more!

Updated 01/20/2011: Apparently Christian von Koenigsegg was very impressed by the one-of Agera R and decided to put it into mass production. As a result we will see a first glimpse of this future model in just two more months at the Geneva Motor Show.
